We've loved every minute of it.
I'm that person that can't stop staring at your dog . Sorry! Our canine companions are filled to the brim with love and joy and I gravitate towards that and always have.
My lap is basically a dog bed.
Before deciding to become a Professional Dog Walker, I went to University and completed my Concurrent Bachelors of General Science and Education. I flew myself over to England after landing a full-time teaching position about 30 minutes outside of London. After being there for a few months, I realized that something was missing. I flew back home to Windsor, ON and started over.
Having no idea what I was going to do, but knowing I loved Toronto and wanted to look for opportunities up here, I took to the internet and found myself a job in retail. I packed up my stuff, left my family dogs behind, and dove into the big city. My friends and family had been telling me for years that I was the "family dog whisperer" and that I should look into working with dogs. I finally took their advice and here I am!
I have now been walking dogs professionally since 2015. I take continuing education seriously, and actively seek out knowledge and learning opportunities to improve my craft. My long term goal is to work my way into training. My dog Bob lets me practice tricks and training on him. When I'm not chilling with dogs, I have my nose stuck in a sci-fi book with a cuppa tea close by, or I'm out biking, hiking, or doing acroyoga.
I look forward to meeting you and your canine partner in crime!
People are always shocked when I tell them that I cuddle puppies for a living. I suppose it's not what they expect when they see me for the first time, but their dogs know right away. "This is my kind of human!"
Originally from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, I made the move to Toronto in October of 2012 searching for new and exciting opportunities. After several years sitting behind a desk in the mutual fund industry, both in Charlottetown, as well as Toronto, I decided that I needed something more. Unsure of what to do next I stumbled across an ad online looking for a dog walker, and the rest is history. I've now been walking professionally since 2014 and in that time I've adopted my dog and best friend Bob, met my incredible partner Erin, and rubbed too many bellies to keep track of.
In my spare time I like to keep busy. I have a passion for playing music, both listening to as well as playing. I've been drumming for 15 years and have played in numerous bands. When not playing music I enjoy drawing, acroyoga, bike rides, hanging out with Bob and Erin as well as watching cartoons and the occasional deck beer.
Hello, my name is Bobert J. Dingdong. I came to live with Derrick (my Pop-Pop ) in the summer of 2014 from Adopt a Dog Save a Life. He tells me I wriggled my way right into his heart. I'm not sure what that means, but I think it's good. I'm 10 years old, and google tells me I'm a beagle lab mix, which, if you ask me, is the most majestic of mixes. In my spare time, I like to sniff things, pee on bushes, and drag my feet on the ground. One time I pooped on the subway platform and embarrassed Pop-Pop.
After a while of taking care of Pop-Pop, we decided to get a pet. That's when Erin (The Miss) came to live with us. She's very nice and let's me take her for walks in the park. I really like all the new friends that Pop-Pop and The Miss introduce me to. Being at the dog park is the best. Everybody should try it.
